Minor in Biomedical Sciences

Minor Overview

Whether you are interested in forensics or want to work in medicine, diagnosing disease and analyzing tissue samples, a minor in biomedical sciences provides valuable expertise for exciting jobs in research, health care, government research, education and law enforcement. You’ll acquire fundamental knowledge of the theories, principles and advances in the basic sciences. You will also develop skills that are essential to work in a hospital laboratory, conduct experiments that may lead to scientific discoveries, analyze toxicology reports for the police or conduct research for companies.

With medical information and technology constantly on the rise, there is an increased demand for specially trained personnel to work in clinical and research laboratories, hospitals, medical schools and government health facilities. Courses such as Pathophysiology, Immunology and Endocrinology help you develop critical thinking skills and understand modern research laboratory techniques.
